Gibson City Clinic: Meet the Doctors and Staff

Dr. Aaron Skinner

Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractor and Nutrition Response Testing Practitioner

Dr. Skinner grew up in Gibson City and went to Gibson City High School. Here, he spent a year as a Greyhound before he became one of the first Falcons at GCMS.

After graduating high school, Dr. Skinner enrolled in Eureka College to major in Biology, but that’s not all! He also played football and represented the student body in the Student Allocations Committee and the Student Senate.

He graduated college cum laude in 2000 and enrolled in the National University of Health Sciences. In December 2003, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Human Biology and a doctorate in Chiropractic.

Soon after his graduation, Dr.Skinner started working as a chiropractor at Farmer City Chiropractic Office.

In 2010, Dr. Skinner brought the real game changer to the Farmer City office. Nutrition Response Testing became a hit and is now offered in the clinic’s second location, the Skinner Health Improvement Center in Gibson City.

Dr.Skinner lives in Bloomington, IL, with Jill, his wife of over 20 years, their two daughters, Ivy and Amelia, and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Leo. Their daughters attend Tri-Valley Schools.

Dr.Skinner enjoys being around family and friends and having fun in his free time.

Dr. Timothy Cooper

Chiropractic Doctor

Dr. Cooper is a lifelong resident of Clinton, Illinois and attended Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville for his undergraduate degree in Exercise Science graduating in 2015.

After seeing his father struggle with back pain in late 2017, he applied to begin his journey to becoming a chiropractor in the fall of 2018.

Dr. Cooper obtained his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Logan College of Chiropractic in Chesterfield, Missouri graduating Magna Cum Laude in December 2021.

He has passed four national board exams and obtained licensure to practice in the State of Illinois. Dr. Cooper specializes in low force, instrument adjusting.

Dr. Cooper loves that we offer both chiropractic and nutrition services to help people get healthy. He was amazed at how well the nutrition response testing worked alongside the nutrition coaching and chiropractic.

Dr. Cooper has a dog named Willow with his girlfriend Kaylan. He enjoys golfing, working out, and watching Cardinals baseball.

Chris Dean

Office Manager

Chris grew up in Le Roy, IL, but now resides in Farmer City with her husband, 1 horse, 8 dogs, and countless cats! She’s also a mom of 3 stepchildren and a grandmother of 7 grandchildren.

Chris has been with us for over 34 years.

For 40 years, she was a chiropractic patient who discovered, thanks to our brilliant chiropractors, that all she needed was the adjustment of her C2.

She loves how we help our patients get better naturally.

Fun fact: Chris also loves collecting Hallmark Christmas ornaments!

Jim Dann

Nutrition Response Testing Patient Advocate

Jim grew up in Washington, IL, and now lives with his wife of 37 years in DeWitt, IL. He also has a daughter, a son-in-law, and a granddaughter as well!

Jim was a Pastor for 35 years in small towns in Indiana and Illinois. He had also been our patient for 23 years. He had mild cerebral palsy and had reached out to many chiropractors before he came to us.

Twenty years of pain later, he finally found a chiropractor who adjusted his atlas along with a few other adjustments. Within two days, he had the relief he needed!

Jim loves how serious we are about fixing our patient’s problems and giving them definite results. He has seen in his own life how chiropractic and Nutrition Response Testing can help!

Fun fact: Jim loves archery, movies, and the outdoors

Sydnee Barnes

Front Desk

Sydnee is from Gibson City, IL. She graduated from GCMS in 2019, Parkland College in 2022, and is currently doing online classes at Arizona State University. She is majoring in Speech and Hearing Sciences and plans to graduate with her Bachelors in 2024.

One thing Sydnee loves about being at the office is talking with patients of all ages and seeing how the chiropractic and nutritional services have changed their lives.

Sydnee loves to watch movies, bake, and spend time with friends and family.

Laura Strough

Nutrition Coach and Public Director

Laura grew up on a dairy farm in Fairbury, IL. Now, she lives in Farmer City, IL, with her husband, three amazing kiddos and one adorable Cavachon dog.

Before joining our family, Laura worked in the medical field and gave piano lessons.

Her son was diagnosed with severe food allergies at 2, and that’s when her journey of learning about health, healing, and proper nutrition began.

Laura also struggled with sciatic and lower back pain for over fifteen years and went to many different chiropractors but saw no promising results.

She found relief when she came to us and had her atlas adjusted, along with following our specialized nutrition program.

Laura loves spending her free time with her family and chasing sunsets. She also loves cheering people on who are seeking to heal their mind, body, spirit, and soul.
