Farmer City Clinic: Meet the Doctors and Staff

Dr. Aaron Skinner

Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractor and Nutrition Response Testing Practitioner

Dr. Skinner grew up in Gibson City and attended Gibson City High School, where he spent one year as a Greyhound at GCHS before becoming one of the first GCMS Falcons.  

After finishing high school, Dr. Skinner joined Eureka College, majored in Biology, played football, and represented the student body in the Student Senate and Student Allocations Committee.

After graduating college cum laude in 2000, he attended the National University of Health Sciences. Here, Dr.Skinner was granted a bachelor’s degree in Human Biology and a doctorate in Chiropractic in December 2003.

Shortly after, Dr. Skinner began his career as a chiropractor at Farmer City Chiropractic Office.

In 2010, Dr. Skinner added Nutrition Response Testing to the clinic. The “real game changer” service is also offered at the clinic’s second location, Skinner Health Improvement Center in Gibson City.

Dr.Skinner lives in Bloomington, IL, with Jill, his wife of over 20 years, their two daughters, Ivy and Amelia, and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Leo. Their daughters attend Tri-Valley Schools.

When he’s not in the office, Dr.Skinner enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Timothy Cooper

Chiropractic Doctor

Dr. Cooper, lifelong resident of Clinton, attended Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville for his undergraduate degree in Exercise Science graduating in 2015. 

After seeing his father struggle with back pain in late 2017, he applied to begin his journey to becoming a chiropractor in the fall of 2018. 

Dr. Cooper obtained his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Logan College of Chiropractic in Chesterfield, Missouri graduating Magna Cum Laude in December 2021. 

He has passed four national board exams and obtained licensure to practice in the State of Illinois. Dr. Cooper specilaizes in low force, instrument adjusting. 

Dr. Cooper has a dog named Willow with his girlfriend, Kaylan. He enjoys golfing, working out, and watching Cardinals baseball.

He loves that we offer both chiropractic and nutrition services to help get people healthy. He was amazed at how well the nutrition response testing worked alongside the nutrition coaching and chiropractic

 

Chris Dean

Office Manager

Chris spent her childhood in Le Roy, IL, and is now a Farmer City resident. She lives with her husband, 1 horse, 8 dogs, and many cats (uncountable, really!). She also has 3 stepchildren and 7 grandchildren.

Chris has been a part of the Farmer City Office family for over 34 years.

She was also a chiropractic patient for 40 years! Then, she discovered that all she needed was the adjustment of her C2 to find life-long relief from the constant headaches. She loves how we provide a holistic healing journey to our patients.

Fun fact: Chris loves collecting Hallmark Christmas ornaments!

Jim Dann

Patient Advocate

Jim grew up in Washington, IL, and now lives with his wife of 37 years in DeWitt, IL. Jim has a daughter, a son-in-law, and a granddaughter as well!

He had been a Pastor for 35 years in small towns in Indiana and Illinois. He was also a patient at our clinic for 23 years. He used to suffer from mild cerebral palsy and had tried many chiropractors before he came to us. After 20 years of living with pain, he finally found a chiropractor who adjusted his atlas and made a few other adjustments. Within two days, he had the relief that he had been aching for!

Jim loves that we’re all about fixing problems and getting definite results. He has seen in his own life how chiropractic and Nutrition Response Testing can get wonderful results!

Fun fact: Jim loves archery, movies, and the outdoors

Payton Kean

Front Desk and X-Ray Tech

Payton grew up in Gibson City, IL, and is also a former weightlifter and footballer.

Currently, Payton’s studying Exercise Science at Illinois State University.

Payton loves our holistic healing practice and how it is different from traditional healthcare clinics and other chiropractic practices.

Laura Strough

Nutrition Coach and Public Director

Laura grew up on a dairy farm in Fairbury, IL. Now, she lives in Farmer City, IL, with her husband, three amazing kiddos, and one adorable Cavachon dog. 

Before joining us, Laura worked in the medical field for over a decade and gave piano lessons.

Her journey of learning about health, healing, and proper nutrition began after her son was diagnosed with severe food allergies when he was 2.

Laura also struggled with sciatic and lower back pain for over fifteen years and went to many different chiropractors but saw no results.

It was when she started her treatment with us, had her atlas adjusted, and began our specialized nutrition program, that she found relief.

Laura loves spending her free time with her family and chasing sunsets. She also loves cheering people on who seeking to find healing for their mind, body, spirit, and soul. 

Sydnee Barnes

Front Desk

Sydnee is from Gibson City, Illinois. She graduated from GCMS in 2019, Parkland College in 2022, and is currently doing online classes at Arizona State University. She is majoring in Speech and Hearing Sciences and plans to graduate with her Bachelors in 2024. 

One thing Sydnee loves about being at the office is talking with patients of all ages and seeing how the chiropractic and nutritional services have changed their lives. 

Sydnee loves to watch movies, bake, and spend time with friends and family.
